Volunteer Opportunities

Golden Harvest Food Bank thrives on the support of our volunteers. Your time is a gift to hungry kids, seniors, and families who don’t have enough to eat. By working together, we can make an immediate impact on hunger in our communities.

Getting Started as a Volunteer

All current volunteer opportunities are posted on our Volunteer Calendar.

Please register below to volunteer as an individual or group. After you register, you will receive email updates about future volunteer needs and can self-schedule your volunteer shifts online. Please schedule volunteer work in advance and do not show up unscheduled.

At this time, attending volunteer orientation is not required. However, we ask that you please review our volunteer requirements and waiver here before volunteering.

Volunteer Opportunities

Augusta Campus Volunteer Center

We need volunteers to help pack emergency food boxes for neighbors across our service area who have been impacted by Hurricane Helene.  By dedicating a few hours of your time, you’ll be making a significant impact on the lives of local children, seniors, and families.

The Master’s Table

Our soup kitchen serves a hot lunch to more than 200 guests every day, 365 days per year. We welcome volunteers to help prepare and serve a daily meal.

The Urban Farm

Help grow food for the hungry at our Urban Farm! You’ll help make The Master’s Table meals delicious and nutritious for our guests.

The Master’s Table Courtyard

The Master’s Table serves lunch to over 250 guests every day. We welcome volunteers to distribute donation such as snacks, clothing, shoes, and hygiene products to guests in the outdoor courtyard.

Aiken Warehouse Food Sorting

At our Aiken warehouse, volunteers can help sort and inspect food donations. This might include produce donations from local farmers and items from retail partners.

Spooky to Be Hungry® Drive

For over 30 years, hundreds of neighborhoods, businesses, organizations and volunteers have linked arms with Golden Harvest Food Bank to scare away hunger through the It’s Spooky to Be Hungry® Drive. We need 100+ volunteers to help distribute orange door hangers in neighborhoods on one Saturday in October. This is door hanger distribution day for all neighborhoods in all Aiken, Richmond & Columbia counties.

Host A Drive

Food & funds drives are a great way to help our neighbors in need. Whether you’d like to run a traditional food & funds drive or go totally virtual, you’re putting meals on the tables of those who need it most, and filling hearts with hope along the way.
