Golden Harvest Food Bank is grateful to announce the second round of Community Investment Program grants, with $250,000 presented to 23 hunger relief partners across our 24-county service area. Made possible through the Food Forever Fund, Golden Harvest’s endowment fund, these grants help local partners strengthen the work they are already doing every day to serve neighbors facing hunger in their communities.
The Food Forever Fund was created to provide long-term support for hunger relief in our region. Through the Community Investment Program, gifts continue making an impact year after year by helping our partners invest in the tools, equipment, and resources they need to serve more people with dignity and care. By investing in the organizations closest to the communities they serve, the fund helps strengthen hunger relief across our region for years to come.
For our hunger relief partners, this support can be transformational. Putnam County Outreach received a Community Investment Program grant during the last round and used the funding to purchase a trailer. Since then, the trailer has helped them pick up more furniture donations to sell in their thrift store, which supports their food assistance programs. They have also had the trailer branded, helping spread awareness about Putnam County Outreach and the services they provide. As the trailer travels through the community, more people are learning where to donate and where to find food assistance when they need help.
Stories like this show the lasting power of the Food Forever Fund. A single grant can help a partner grow capacity, increase visibility, and better meet the needs of their neighbors. We are deeply grateful for the generosity that makes the Food Forever Fund possible and for the partners who bring that generosity to life in their communities every day.
