We Make It Simple

Make the First Donation

Your friends and family want to know how passionate you are about ending hunger. Show them you care by making the first donation to your campaign.

Email Your Friends

The more people you tell about your campaign, the more successful it will be. On average, 1 in 4 people who read your email will make a donation with an average gift of $50. So if you’re trying to raise $500, it’s probably a good idea to email at least 40 people.

Share Your Story

"People don’t care what you do. They care why you do it." -Simon Sinek
Donors want to know your story. Tell them why you care so much about ending hunger and why Golden Harvest is important to you. Whether you’re doing this for a birthday or in honor of a loved one, it takes just a few minutes to make your page stand out.

Posting to Facebook and Twitter is perhaps the easiest way to make your campaign a huge success. With a quick status update and the press of a button, you can instantly share your campaign with hundreds of people. The more you post, the better your chances will be of reaching your goal.

Say Thank You

The most important step is also one of the easiest. When someone donates to your campaign, send them a quick thank you note to let them know how much it means to you. It’s the right thing to do, and it will make you feel great! Not good at sharing your feelings? This template should help.
Dear Friend,

I’m writing to let you know I just started my own fundraising campaign for Golden Harvest Food Bank! When I read that 1 in 4 individuals (including children) struggle with hunger in our community, I knew I had to do something. Over the next 90 days, I’ve set a goal to raise $xxxx for Golden Harvest.

I need your help.

All you have to do is visit my campaign page and click Donate Now. For every $1 you donate, Golden Harvest can turn it into $9 worth of food. If you help me reach my goal, together we’ll provide more than $xxxxx worth of groceries to local families in need.

If you have a few minutes, you can also go shopping at my virtual grocery store. Don’t worry, you won’t actually be buying any groceries. It’s just a really fun way to make a difference.

Thanks in advance for your help, friend.

Dear Friend,

As you know, I recently launched my own fundraising campaign for Golden Harvest Food Bank. So far I’ve raised about $xxxx of my $xxxx goal, and with your help I know I’ll be able to reach it! I know you already help out a lot in the community, but it would truly mean a lot to me if you visited my page and made a donation. The cool thing about Golden Harvest is they are able to turn every $1 into $9 worth of food. That means if you donate $50, it will be worth almost $450 in groceries to a local person in need.

If you’d like to make a donation, please visit my campaign page and click “Donate Now”. If you have a few minutes, you can also go shopping at my virtual grocery store. I guarantee it’s like nothing you’ve ever seen.

Take care, friend. Thanks in advance for your help.

Dear Friend,

Today is the last day of my personal fundraising campaign for Golden Harvest Food Bank. I’m so close to reaching my goal, and I need just a few more people to visit my pageand make a donation. Even if you can only afford to give $1, that will still provide almost $9 worth of groceries to a local person in need.

If you’d like to make a donation, please visit my page and click Donate Now. If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to check out my virtual grocery store. It’s truly one of the coolest ways to make a difference.

Thanks so much for your help with my campaign, friend. It truly means a lot.

Dear Friend,

I just wanted to say thank you for donating to Golden Harvest Food Bank through my online fundraising campaign. I’m so passionate about ending hunger in our community, and your gift will help us get one step closer to making that dream a reality. You may already know this, but through their network of volunteers and major food donors, Golden Harvest is able to turn every $1 donated into $7.88 worth of food. 96% of all donations go to local programs, which means only 4% is put towards administrative expenses. I think that’s pretty cool.

If you’re interested in learning more about Golden Harvest, be sure to check out their new website at goldenharvest.org.

Thanks again for your generous gift, friend. I’m glad we had the opportunity to make a difference together.
